You can now access webmail from http://www.lgdmail.ca

To help those not familiar with this package, think of Hotmail, GMail or Yahoo Mail. They are all webmail utilities. You can create, send, recieve, and manipulate mail while using our server, from any internet accessable computer - worldwide. Yes, your mail goes with you, whereever you are. Just remember - if you use a traditional email program like Outlook Express to check your mail, it will 'download' the mail into your computer, and it will not be available in webmail.
If going away on business, or holiday, just make sure that you do not leave your traditional mail program running. Then you can check and use webmail, and when you come home, you can download all of the mail that was recieved. OR you can just use webmail and never worry about a computer crash causing you to loose your mail.

You can even import your email contacts into webmails address book, and take them on the road with you.

When you first go to webmail, you get the login screen

If your e-mail address is billy@billysite.ca you would use billy as the user name, and your password for that account as the password. Enter it correctly and you go to the welcome screen.

From here you can navigate through the various options. Compose is to create new mail, inbox is the incoming mail, the options allow you to set up a block list and a junk folder, and to set up mail forwarding, signatures, and such. The best way to learn is to spen some time going through the options and pages. REMEMBER...when you change an option, there will be a save settings button at the very bottom of the page...don't save - changes are gone

There is a very powerful and useful component of our webmail package, called the filestore. Thing of this as an online storage box. You can upload documents, small files, spreqadsheets, pictures, and other things to the filestore from the computer you are logged in from. When you log in from another computer, you can then download those files to that computer. Have a file you need to attach to e-mails frequently? Put it into filestore, and your mail sending time drops, as the file is already in the mail server. When you go to attach files to an e-mail you are given the option of uploading them, or using files in filestore. Filestore looks like this:

Here are a few other sample screens:
